The 18th Congress of the International Union of Microbiological Societies (IUMS) was held in Florence (Italy) in October 23-25, 2024 (web site).
The meeting, which took place in one of the most beautiful cities of the world, was a unique opportunity to bring together scientists working on Bacteriology, Virology and Mycology from around the world, to share and discuss the most recent advances and future perspectives in microbiology.
We discussed the microbial genetics, molecular biology, gene regulation, proteomics and the applied aspects of microbiology, including biotechnology, clinical, medical, industrial and environmental applications.
In addition IUMS 2024 Congress was a great opportunity to increase the awareness of the importance of microbes for society and for the planet and discuss how we can actively work together to promote sustainable solutions that will preserve microbial diversity and maximize the global well being.
