During the 28th annual United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) -Dubai from 30 November to 12 December 2023- a significant shift was observed in the scientific community’s approach to climate change.
Microbiologists from around the world, representing organizations such as the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and the International Society for Microbial Ecology (ISME), made a compelling case for the inclusion of microbial processes in climate models and solutions.
Scientists highlighted the often overlooked yet crucial role that microbes play in our planet’s climate system.
